Welcome to the farm!

“Magic is always pushing and drawing and making things out of nothing. Everything is made out of magic, leaves and trees, flowers and birds, badgers and foxes and squirrels and people. So it must be all around us. In this garden—in all the places.”- The Secret Garden

About Rebecca & the farm

The mission of the farm is quite simply to impart the magic, peace and beauty of flowers!
Rebecca has continually found herself coming alive and healing amongst reverence and magic of plants. She sees beauty as a transmuter, and pathway through pain and grief and sorrow. In the last 10 years she’s turned a half acre urban lot into a diverse ecosystem and has been officially farming flowers for the last four seasons using organic and no-till practices.
The farm is designed in a somewhat labyrinth-style, woven with flowers and an abundance of fruit, perennials and medicinal plants. One section features a rainbow flower garden, shaped like a flower with each bed representing a color of the rainbow!

Rebecca’s home is practically swallowed up by flowers in the process of drying (and she’s not mad about it!) She uses them to make various creations like wreaths, wall hangings, bouquets, ornaments and other decorative home goods. Her hope is that this work will help others create sacred space in whatever way works for them.

FAQs

What kind of flowers do you grow?

I choose variety over quantity every time!  Each season’s flower line up changes as I am often trailing new varieties.  You will always receive a mix of focal flowers (ex: roses, dahlias, sunflowers, zinnia, gladiolus), spikes (ex: snapdragons, celosia, delphinium, bells of Ireland, veronica, eryngium) discs (ex: asters, strawflower, yarrow, rudbeckia, echinacea, cosmo, calendula) and gorgeous fillers (ex: amaranth, ornamental grasses, cress, buplerum, basil, feverfew, orach, fennel, statice, ageratum). The flowers listed are just a sample, but there’s SO much more!

How long will the flowers last?

Each flower has a different vase life. They all have been through a specific conditioning process before you receive them.  Most of the flowers will last about a week, some longer and some only 3-4 days (but they’re just too beautiful to not to include).   I also grow a lot of dry flowers and often mix them in with the fresh (statice, strawflowers, poppy pods, nigella etc.) When the fresh flowers pass, you can hang the dried varieties to keep forever!

How do I extend the vase life of my flowers?

I give my subscription subscribers a baggie full of flower food each time. Just a teaspoon in the vase will extend the life of your flowers. Keeping them cool and out of direct sun helps! I also recommend changing the water about every other day. Some people like to cut the stems but I don’t find that to be necessary and in the case of some flowers that have been specially treated, cutting the ends will make them wilt.

Can I put in special requests for certain kinds of flowers or specific colors?

Yes! Please let me know if you have an affinity for certain flowers or color palette. Availability is subject to mother nature’s unfolding.

Do you deliver?

Yes! Right now just within a 3 mile radius of the Cully neighborhood. $3 per delivery for Cully neighbors and $5 otherwise.
